MARY ELEANOR.YOUNGE&lt;br /&gt;By the death of Mary Eleanor, wife of Mr. J. D. Younge, the village of Buxton has lost one of its prominent daughters and the Friendship Wesleyan Church a devoted member and class leader.&lt;br /&gt;For some time, Mrs. Younge was not enjoying the best of health but, was always up and down doing something.&lt;br /&gt;On Monday she complained of not feeling well and during the day was confined to her bed.&lt;br /&gt;Her condition was not regarded as serious hence the surprise when her death was announced.&lt;br /&gt;Of a genial and charitable disposition - she will be remembered for many a day.&lt;br /&gt;Of the deceased, it could be said, that she was "mother" to everybody.&lt;br /&gt;She will be sadly missed and by those In particular who are in the habit of spending a Bank Holiday at Buxton and to those who go up to play cricket.&lt;br /&gt;Of a truth, it could be said of her, that her house was noted for its hospitality.&lt;br /&gt;To the husband and children especially those who are absent from borne, the” Daily Chronicle" offers its sympathy. He was last seen when the vessel arrived at Parika at 12:30 AM the following day. When the tug reached Georgetown all of Roberts’ personal belongings were still aboard.&lt;br /&gt;Mrs. Maude Braithwaite, Roberts’ sister, told the Chronicle that her brother was a Certified Blaster with over 30 years experience in his trade. Wood Grant Owner, Hururu, Demerara River, Stone Supplier and Contractor to Government, Property Owner, and Member of the B.G. Forest Producers Association. Engineer with B.G. Mr. Roberts who was educated at the Brickdam Roman Catholic School and Mr. Cockett’s Private School took up the Engineering Trade in his youth, then went over to mining.&lt;br /&gt;Being employed as a Mining Engineer, and blaster with the Peters Mines, the Mahdia Mining Corporation and Barama Gold Company for many years. Shortly after World War One, he went to Panama, then on contract with the West Africa Government on railway engineering assignments. On his return to British Guiana, Mr. Roberts went into business in the stone trade as supplier to  Messrs Evan Wong and the Public Works Department.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BLASTING-OPERATOR&lt;br /&gt;Well-known throughout the upper Demerara River as “W.T.”, the deceased carried on blasting operations at Sebo Quarry for about 15 years, being the principal supplier of granite boulders to the Demerara Bauxite Company during their construction work 1939-44 and contractor to Atkinson Field US Air Base during the period of World War Two. During this period he also had interest in the timber wood and coal Industry operating at Grant Hururu, Demerara River. After withdrawing from Sebo quarry in 1951, the deceased turned attention to the Essequibo river where and was managing the quarry at Monkey Jump up to the time of his illness, a month ago.&lt;br /&gt;Mr. Roberts was the eldest of three brothers and four sisters now alive and leaves four children.
